Lake Marian Track begins from Hollyford Road and climbs beyond the waterfalls to an alpine lake in a hanging valley. The full route is rougher and more demanding than the short waterfall section, with roots, mud, steep ground and rapidly changing weather. Check DOC alerts, allow enough daylight and carry proper tramping footwear, food, water and warm layers.
