Dolamore Park

Mandeville · Eastern Southland · Southland

Located around 11 kilometres northwest of Gore on the lower slopes of the Hokonui Hills, Dolamore Park is a large public recreation area and the main gateway into Croydon Bush Scenic Reserve.

The park covers approximately 95 hectares, combining mature native podocarp forest with broad lawns, exotic trees, stone terraces and more than 500 mature rhododendrons that produce an impressive display during spring.

Visitors can enjoy picnics, family recreation, disc golf, camping, native-bush walking and mountain biking. Walking options range from short family-friendly tracks to longer routes through Croydon Bush, including Fantail Ridge Track, the Loop Track, Whisky Creek Track and Sequoia Track. The tracks provide opportunities to see native birds and enjoy elevated views across the Gore District and Southland countryside.

Camping facilities include extensive grassed tent areas, 22 powered campervan connections, electric barbecues, a kitchen, toilets and showers. Camping should be booked through the Gore District Council. Dogs are not permitted within the park.
