Punanga Manu o Te Anau – Te Anau Bird Sanctuary is a free lakeside conservation site where visitors can see threatened native birds in managed aviaries and natural habitat. Enter from the Lakefront Drive and Ivon Wilson Recreation Reserve side, follow sanctuary signs and allow time for the short self-guided paths. Donations support the work, and scheduled feeding or ranger talks should be confirmed on the DOC page.
