A softer lake-edge stop north of Cromwell with water, birds and open basin views. Public access is via Lowburn Inlet reserve and signed lakefront access beside State Highway 6. Cold water and rapidly changing conditions are the principal hazards. Use formed access, respect closures and avoid disturbing nesting or resting wildlife.
